In Milan with more than 2.400 installations. Some even in the pavillions of EXPO2015
This translation work promoted by Garaventa Lift aims to be a useful tool for users and visitors of Expo 2015 who will be using platform lifts in the city of Milan and in Expo halls. The two main objectives of this project are to ensure immediate availability of the platform lift use instructions and their storage for future use. The project called ACCESSIBILEXPO.COM has registered some of the mobility equipment installed at strategic points of the city of Milan to overcome architectural barriers. This has allowed to increase their value, so that platform lift functions can be discovered not only by tourists visiting Expo 2015 but also by Milan citizens. People of 159 different nationalities live in Milan, with their culture and language: Garaventa Lift thinks that “accessibility” means not only offering a product to move people, but also letting people use it correctly; therefore, use instruction understanding is considered as essential. This is the reason why Garaventa Lift has decided to translate the platform lift instructions into 12 languages: the 3 official languages of EXPO2015 (Italian, English, French) and the most spoken languages in Milan (Mandarin Chinese, German, Russian, Czech, Polish, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Arabic). This definitive project has been conceived by our Corporate Social Responsibility. It has been financed and promoted by Garaventa Lift, given the importance of designing a complete accessibility support. Taking advantage of such an important event as EXPO2015 to improve accessibility services, actions and projects offered to citizens by public institutions means having a great opportunity to give a new image to the city of Milan helping people with disabilities and common citizens. Garaventa Lift is proud to be part of this project. Garaventa Lift wishes happy EXPO2015 to everybody!
